Underutilized species is referred to which little or no attention paid by the policymakers, agricultural researchers, and plant breeders. Medicinal plants used in traditional medicine have a natural origin, are effective, less expensive. Traditional doctors African countries make use of treating millions people. Albizia zygia, Alstonia boonei, Tetrapleura tetraptera, Newbouldia laevis Canarium schweinfurthii underutilized indigenous timber trees with high medicinal value that were discussed. Different parts these like bark, root, leaves, flower, stem, gum as medication diverse diseases such painful urination, epilepsy, convulsion etc. This study aims at reviewing values, their challenges, prospects.
